Stevenage Borough Council have recently appointed Tina Benson as Town Centre Manager and Mena Caldbeck as Business Relationship Manager.
Tina, who is from Stevenage, joins from Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council where she worked with the town centre team. She will oversee a programme of events in the town centre and will also build relationships with shop owners to ensure the town centre attracts new visitors.
Mena arrives in Stevenage from Aylesbury Vale District Council where she spent 12 years as Economic Development Manager. Working closely with us at the btc, Mena will be the first point of contact in the council for businesses in Stevenage and will help to attract new companies to the area.
Councillor John Gardner, Executive Member for Environment and Regeneration at Stevenage Borough Council, said: “It’s an exciting time for Tina and Mena to join us in Stevenage as we press on with our plans to regenerate the town centre. Last year we held a number of successful events in the town centre but with Tina now joining us, Stevenage residents and visitors can expect to see an action-packed calendar of events.”
Councillor Ralph Raynor, Executive Member for Economy, Enterprise and Transport at Stevenage Borough Council, said: “Mena will play a vital role in working with the great existing businesses we’ve got in Stevenage and also help bring new ones to the town. Her experience will be of huge benefit to us and I wish her every success at Stevenage Borough Council.”
