Dear All,

The petition that Wenta have been lobbying for over the last 3 weeks has now been finally approved by the House of Commons Petitions Committee today and is up on the gov website for signing. Millions of small businesses need your support right now on this, more than ever.

Please send this to all of your networks immediately. #SmallBusinessCrisisNow

We need 10,000 for Government to respond to this, 100,000 for Government to debate it.

THE ECONOMIC CASE FOR INVESTING MORE IN SMALL BUSINESSES NOW

There is a strong economic case for supporting and investing in more support for SMEs now. The short and medium returns on Corporation Tax, PAYE and outflow in unemployment support would outweigh the immediate term cost. It makes much more sense to invest in additional cash grants for small businesses now and make an economic return later, than it would to provide no more assistance now and be left with fewer small businesses who are tomorrow’s medium and large businesses.

The cash grants proposed by Government are only for businesses in receipt of the Small Business Rates Relief or Rural Relief, or for particular sectors. Many small businesses that fall outside of these reliefs desperately need cash grants and support NOW!

This needs to be made immediately available by every means possible.

Small businesses are dying by the day and jobs are being lost. We need fast, easy access to cash grants for small businesses enabling them to survive COVID-19. Time is of the essence. Government needs to do more for small businesses, not just the current proposals. Grant distribution can be done faster. We need to use all resources available.

PLEASE SUPPORT:
Please show your support for the millions of micro, small businesses that are still not receiving the financial support they need right now by signing this petition and sending this to every contact you have.

By extending the Small Business Rates Relief (SBRR) cash grants scheme immediately to the self-employed that fall outside of SBRR, thousands of the smallest businesses can be saved. They are the blood line of our economy and there has never been a more important time to support them through this crisis.

The Government have set out a number of business support measures for the self-employed but:

1) The proposed support won’t reach small businesses until June 2020 which will be too late for many of them.

2) The proposed support does not apply to every self-employed person and there are many clusters of the self-employed that are not receiving anything at all right now.

Please sign the below petition to make Government extend the current £10k SBRR cash grants to ALL of the self-employed.

They need us now more than ever to survive. Your support would be much appreciated in circulating this petition to all of your networks, family, and friends.
