Another artwork sold at the btc!

Press Release from Herts Visual Arts - September 2019

This Alpaca has just found a new home!

This magnificent Alpaca original pastel painting was one of many fantastic saleable art works that are proudly displayed on the walls of the btc in Stevenage.
The fourth sale in recent months took place this week when Anita, who works for a business based at the btc, fell in love with this cute Alpaca that was created by local Stevenage artist, Sally Taylor.

Artist Sally Taylor said: “It is a real pleasure to have my work on the walls of the btc and such a delight to be able to share my work with others and find it a new home. I am so grateful that the btc has been running this initiative and I’m delighted to be part of it too!”

Sally continues: “As a member of Herts Visual Arts, I have been able to connect with many other local artists as well as being encouraged to exhibit my work too. This is definitely a real boast to me personally and the exhibition is a joint collaboration between the btc, a business centre community for local start-ups and growing businesses, and Herts Visual Arts, a volunteer-run organisation which promotes awareness of Hertfordshire artists.”
The btc has provided four floors of wall space for ten Hertfordshire artists, each showing their own original work. The range of work includes photography, oils, watercolour, acrylics, glasswork and textiles. Home to over 120 businesses the centre is managed by social enterprise, Wenta, on behalf of Stevenage Borough Council.

Commenting on this joint collaboration, Jo Kiely – Centre Manager of the btc, said:
“We’ve had the pleasure of hosting this wonderful artwork here created by local artists and it’s great to be able to be a part of this. We’ve had many positive comments from the businesses based here at the btc and long may this collaboration continue.”

The btc encourages entrepreneurship and creativity, providing free start-up business advice, free training workshops and so much more. The centre also offers workspace to start-ups and small businesses – this includes artists and other creatives too!
