Wenta's Double Whammy Award Win!

Last week Wenta was awarded with two awards from the National Enterprise Network (NEN), formerly known as The National Federation of Enterprise Agencies, annual awards ceremony held in Stratford upon Avon. The Awards were announced during a gala dinner hosted by Doug Scott, Chief Executive of the NEN and national broadcaster and columnist Julia Hartley-Brewer.

Wenta was announced as first runner up in both the “Barclays Let’s Talk Contractor of the Year” and the “Best Local Network or Partnership” awards.

The first award for “Barclays Let’s Talk Contractor of the Year” required excellent levels of administration, scheduling, delivery and high attendance of the Barclays Let’s Talk Starting in Business course. Wenta were thrilled to be named as first runner up in this category having run this core service for nearly 5 years.

The second award for the “Best Local Network or Partnership” asked entrants to highlight their involvement with local communities and partnerships with a variety of organisations. The Wenta application centred around its activities run from the Business and Technology Centre (btc) in Stevenage, which is run in partnership with Stevenage Borough Council, the Advisory Board partners and a range of external providers and employers. The application highlighted Wenta’s many work relationships as a beacon example of networks and partnerships.

Peter Cabon, Director of Advisory Services at Wenta, gave a presentation to the NEN Conference which centered on the future of Enterprise, and was entitled “To change or not to change”. His presentation highlighted the need for innovation and growth within the enterprise sector and how Wenta were delivering this through their My Incubator brand.

Chris Pichon, Chief Executive of Wenta said; “We are thrilled to have won not one but two awards this year. Both conference and awards ceremony proved to be a huge success. We take great pride in the services that we offer and the partnerships that we build. It’s really great to have our efforts recognised by the National Enterprise Network”.

These awards bring Wenta’s total to 5 awards in as many years from the National Enterprise Network. In 2007 they received the top accolade for Education links for the development of their Education programmes and in 2008 they were awarded for excellence in Marketing. Last year Wenta won the National Award for Innovation, they hope to continue this run of good fortune at next year’s awards.
