The Business and Technology Centre (btc) in Stevenage is a well established enterprise and innovation centre providing flexible, quality facilities and business support to regional businesses.

A 27,000 sq ft extension to the existing 15,000 sq ft was opened in April 2009 and was part of the council's vision to create quality business space and support in the heart of Stevenage's business community. The £7m investment is the primary innovation and technology centre in Hertfordshire. It promotes innovation and supports small and medium sized businesses.

The btc aims to make a positive impact on the geographical area in which it is based by assisting the start-up and growth of businesses, especially those from the knowledge-based sector; and to support existing innovative businesses to flourish. It promotes innovation in local schools and colleges and works closely with the University of Hertfordshire. These important links ensure that the btc Stevenage retains the title of the longest serving enterprise hub within the region promoting networking, the sharing of knowledge and cross trading. It is this spectrum of services that embeds the btc at the centre of enterprise and innovation within Stevenage, Hertfordshire and across the wider region. 

 Complete Innovation Solution

The btc aims to provide the complete solution for aspiring innovators and entrepreneurs. It offers advice and support, specialist training, access to finance and introductions to other knowledge based companies and agencies. With these services and the high quality facilities within the building the btc enables its users to effectively showcase their businesses. The btc encapsulates three distinct service areas of ‘Promotion of Enterprise and Innovation’, ‘A hub of Enterprise Activities’ and ‘Business support’. 
The btc works closely with regional agencies, enterprise hubs and universities to offer mentoring, training, educational visits and work experience.

Green Travel Plan

The btc is committed to raising awareness and reducing unnecessary travel amongst staff and visitors, and encouraging environmentally friendly behaviour. The btc operates a comprehensive Green Travel Plan to achieve these objectives for the benefit of its tenants, employees and visitors and has priority parking for those car sharing.

The btc also supports the Gunnels Wood Sustainable Travel scheme.
